FAQ
Here are a series of questions that are thrown my way and I am happy to be able to answer them for you.
When should I expect my order?
Do to the nature of my production all rings, cuffs and bangles are "made to order". I do from time to time have pieces that are reay to size and ship. Most of these pieces are OOAK.
Rings take anywhere from 1-2 weeks for turn around depending on workload.
Leather Cuffs take anywhere from 3-4 weeks depending on my worklaod and if the cuff is part of my Core Collection (which can be replicated) or if it's a custom order it could take longer.
Bangles take anywhere from 1-2 weeks depending on worlload.

*How should I size my finger due to the product being leather?
Please refer to my How to Order/ Sizing tab along bottom of webpage.
*Why is my ring a little tight?
Due to the nature of the ring being leather I compensate for minor stretching that will occur over the duration of time. It will stretch a little bit but not too significantly. I've worked long and hard on a formula to fit true to size.
*There's a film that comes off on my finger from the leather ring, is this normal?
Yes, I apply a coating on the backside of the ring ( the part that touches your skin) to create a barrier between the skin to skin. It'll eventually will not rub off on your finger, it'll go away after 2 or three uses. Leather can become very smelly after awhile by absorbing your oils from your skin causing an unpleasant odor. The coating acts as a barrier so your ring's hygiene will be good. lol
*How do the leather rings fasten?
I fasten my leather rings with a metal rivet. It is not a snap!
*Where do the vintage pieces come from that you put on your leather cuffs and rings?
I've been collecting vintage jewelry for awhile. I acquire the jewelry from my travels to CO, NV, NM, AZ and also online auctions I attend. I buy from very reputable buyers and collectors. I go to estate sales in desired areas and of course I've found some great pieces from IG. I am very juried when it comes to buying my pieces. A majority of my vintage jewelry I find is damaged wether it be the band broke, minor abrasions and cracked stones, I want to find new intention for these beautiful pieces that will most likely be thrown in a drawer or sit in a jewelry box never to be worn.
Recently my husband has taken on silver-smithing and we are starting to work together on pieces. Our Collection is called the "Union Collection" check us out. Were located on one of the drop downs located at top of webpage.
*What kind of leather do you use?
I use European vegetable-tanned leather.
What's veg tanned leather?
Vegetable-tanned leather is tanned using tannins and other ingredients found in different vegetable matter, such as tree bark prepared in bark mills, wood, leaves, fruits, and roots. It is super supple.
Advantages of vegetable tanning
-
Vegetable tanning is environmentally friendly; meaning any leather products that have been vegetable tanned can be recycled
-
Vegetable tanning is an age old tradition, so most tanneries have very skilled craftsmen producing and dyeing the leather
-
Due to the natural tannins used, vegetable tanned products are unique and have their own life, they are not the same for their entire life, but they change, continuously, for the better
-
The colors that vegetable tanning produces are rich and warm tones that look completely natural
-
Vegetable tanned leathers are more valuable and thus sold at a higher average price compared to chrome tanned leathers.
